Brief Introduction
Hi everyone, my name is Brenda.
My husband and I migrated from China about 10 years ago and currently I’m a stay at home mother of three young children… well, not tonight, cos the hubby is looking after them at home, giving me a well deserved break! Hahaha…
How you met Amway?
What’s your impression and why?
So we were introduced to the business, like many of you here, through a friend. A few years ago Carol, my colleague at the time, invited us over for dinner one night and showed us the business opportunity.
To be honest, I didn’t think much of the business, cos it looked like a lot of work and I just had my youngest child, so I didn’t think I had the time.
But I knew the products were good quality because my family used to use them back home, I’ve got really sensitive skin and I remember the products were very gentle and enviro friendly.
But my husband was very against it, because once he had a friend trick him into attending a seminar of another competitor, at which they tried to hard sell some products, which he didn’t enjoy at all.
So long story short, in the end I joined, mainly to show support for my good friend, but I was also partly curious because she was doing very well in her career as an accountant so it struck me as a bit of a surprise that she was doing this.
Why you do Amway?
Fast forward a few months during tax time, my husband was reviewing our bank accounts and noticed that we’ve been receiving deposits from Amway.
They weren’t much at the time, but enough to get my hubby interested to know why they were paying us.
So anyway, we got Carol over to show the figures again and honestly it still didn’t make much sense the second time!
But I did catch the idea of passive income, which was really important to me. My husband is a builder and the sole breadwinner in my family and even though he’s doing ok, I sometimes wonder what would happen if he ever gets into an accident or something happened at work. The kids are still small and we’re far away from the rest of the family.
So we’re doing this as a plan B, a spare tyre if you will, but I wanna make sure that there’s air in the spare tyre if I ever need to use it.
Also having a little bit of extra income takes the pressure off him too, and I feel good knowing that I can invest the fragmented bits of time that I have into something that will help support my family in the long run.
How have you changed / benefited?
So the last few months have been really good! I’ve learned a lot with all the reading, audio and just being around these amazing people who I know want to make sure that I have the best chance of success!
The professional development has been great, and I feel like I’m getting all the training as if on the workforce, with the flexibility of working when, where and how I want. My friends have also mentioned that I’m more positive and energetic! Hahaha, could be the XS! Hehe,

Of course, it’s not all fun and games and like any business, you will need to put in a little extra time and effort, particularly in the beginning, but I say to myself...
If i’d be working just as hard in a traditional job to realise my bosses dreams, why wouldn’t I work hard to realise my own!
So thanks guys, that’s me in a nutshell and I look forward to hearing your story on this stage soon.
